Cleaning Around the Grill Element Inside Your Oven

One of the most difficult areas to clean inside an oven is the roof around the grill element. Grease, carbon and cooking residue can build up over time, making this area particularly difficult to clean with ordinary household products.

Cleaning Around the Grill Element

We carefully use specialist scraping tools to remove built-up carbon and baked-on residue from around and between the grill element. Great care is taken throughout the process to avoid damaging the element itself.

Once the heavier carbon has been removed, we apply our professional cleaning paste and allow it time to work while we clean another area of the oven.

We then return to the roof of the oven and gently scrub the remaining grease and carbon using wet wire wool. Any remaining cleaning solution is wiped away with a damp cloth before the area is thoroughly dried.

We do not clean the grill element itself, as doing so could potentially cause damage.

Cleaning the Oven Roof

Some ovens are designed so that the grill element can be lowered by removing a screw or bolt, often positioned towards the front centre or at either side of the element.

On some older oven models, the element can be removed completely.

Where the design allows the element to be lowered or removed safely, it provides much better access to the oven roof, making it easier to thoroughly remove grease, carbon and cooking residue.

The exposed oven roof can then be cleaned using the same professional process used on the rest of the oven interior.
